Every season brings considerations and a good wedding photographer will know how to get the best out of any situation.
Some Summer Wedding Advice
The time of year you choose to have your wedding will have significant bearing on what is possible in terms of your photography. The last few days in London have seen the hottest weather in years and although the days are lovely and the sky is blue, not to mention how wonderful it is that it’s not raining for a change, bright sunlight can be a problem for the photography side of things. The right photographer should have the ability to deal with any light that is thrown at them however bright midday sunlight is so harsh and can bleach images out not to mention the physiological effects of the wedding couple who may be squinting at the camera and getting a tad hot under the collar. Make up and Hair styles can melt in these conditions and nobody wants to look like they’ve been for a swim in their wedding attire although I have seen some go in for that look but generally only at the end of the day. Softer light will always be more flattering than full sunshine. Be prepared for dealing with these issues if you are planning a midday wedding in the middle of summer. Even in the dead of summer you should have a wet weather contingency plan especially in England, always discuss these things with your photographer.
Make sure to have a pre-wedding meeting with your photographer that is included in the cost of the package. Raise any concerns you may have and talk about what you would like to achieve. It is important for any photographer to understand who they are photographing. The one that is right for you will be able to guide you through these things without you having to worry about them so that you can concentrate on having a the brilliant day that you deserve.
Happy wedding planning!
